ROMEO AND JULIET
Established in 1996, Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes which is playing the character of Romeo and Juliet.
The story of Romeo and Juliet is written by William Shakespeare between 1591 to 1595
In 1562 it had been translated into “The Tragic History of Romeo and Juliet” by Arthur Brook
In 1567, it was rewritten as “Pleasure Palace” by William Pinter
Base on all these information, William Shakespeare had extend the story and add another supporting role, therefor the play is first establish in 1597
The story is base on Italy Verona, is traditional love tragedy back to the time.
The story is between two family, which the Capulets and Montagues are two rival gangs.
MUSIC VEDIO CONVENTION
This song is the last song they had released so was a farewell single before they split up. The conventions of the music video are that it uses dynamic camera to present the story that happens in the music video, the narrative is following the musical themes showing the sadness and sorrow of parting from a loved one. In the music video they chose Macao as the shooting location. In the music video it mainly uses the old town and new urban area to make a contrast between two different and contrasting locations. This means they are moving forward now from the group to single artists and are starting to feel lonely when they are single. This makes out the contrast to what they are like in the music video. They have a lot of shots of the group of four people then moves to one. This makes out the changes by using the camera work.
In the music video the lighting is mainly low-key lighting. All of the shots are mainly down at nighttime or on a cloudy day, as the weather and night time leads to think of sadness and depression plus loneliness. This is what they are trying to present to the audience. Therefore in the music video it had use a lot of close up shot and long shot. The close up shot is showing out they’re emotion when they are alone.
Long shot is establishing what their relationship was like and how happy they are together. Example? A Dolly track and pan shot is a common technique used in the music video it follows their movement, from a long shot of four people slowly moving forward then focusing on one of them, as their emotion change from happy to sad.
From their costumes, when they are four people, the costumes would be more colorful but when it is only one person their costumes color changes to black and white. This links to the lighting in the urban area they are always are four of them with a very bustling commercial street with fancy LED lighting. But when they are alone it always be old downtown with yellowish lighting.
At the end of the music the intonation gets softer and the scene from goes from colorful to black and white. This means all the things are ending and is the finish for the girl group; Sistar in South Korea. At the last scene all of them go from happy faces then turn to dismay. From the emotion can they no one want to leave the group.
Research Task2: Artist and their Musical Genre
Musical Artist: Bigbang (G-Drogen)
In the main time his style and with his band is keeping the same, in Asia GD and Top’s rap are the top. One is very jumping, one is very steady, this creates another style and feeling to the audience. At the time in Asia not many people did this, with the vocal Deasung. Their style is more like American music.
Mainly their song is made by GD, in their main successful album is MADE. This album was published all over the world. The first one M had two songs; loser and BAE BAE published on billboard. Obviously GD has the most successful singles in the group, he is very talented and most of the songs are made by him. He is the Korean media and the public call it “the creator of fashion” and “the maker of topics”.
YG Entertainment is the record labels also is their company, but GD is the one had the song copyright.
Marketing Strategies they had use Korean local reality show and concert, but mainly people like their music style. In Asia their music style is unique and with their acoustic line is very special.
In the media they are always the focal point. Any reactions are followed by the paparazzi. In Korean also Asia they are the top followed band. Especially GD is Chanel’s favorite and the designer’s favorite. What he wears can be followed by the girls and the boys. The hot item everyone would buy.
In their group their controversy is a drug problem. In 2017 the group member TOP tested positive in drug test when he is in military service so he joined the army to finish his military service. In 2019 he finished his military service but he will continued going with the band.
Another is Sungari’s case. He had events causing social disputes, many illegal things had happened such as illegal sex trade, overseas gambling and illegal foreign exchange transaction law. Before 2019 he had sunk into so many different cases, but after this social dispute he had to leave the group and stop all the performance activities. This case had effect so many people even his boss and the company he is in.
All their music video is reflected to their genre is mainly colorful and hop. They had very few music video had made and publish only the must popular song had music video had made.

This MV Genre stylistic is performative and narrative, Let’s not fall in love is narrative and Sober is performertive.
In the song let’s not fall in love with 10 character; 5 are group member and the other 5 people are their girlfriends in the music video showing their love story and how they are struggling in their relationships. In the music video it uses many establishing shots to show their relationship and also uses close up shots to show their emotion when they are facing each other. Establishing shots show out the when two people are together they are in a very happy position and they have a lot of physical contact showing they are really close to each other but they are not actully girlfriend and boyfriend. From the close up shot it shows their emotion is worried and they are at a loss. From this two different camera work it shows out two different attitude to the relationship they are in.
In the music video the lighting is mainly high key lighting. All the shooting is at day time using the sun light, only a few shots are done indoors with low key lighting. Finishing all the shots at daytime is like their relationship just like lovers they are dating. And mainly their clothing is matching up colours. It is in the summer time so all the girls are wearing shorts and looks very cool. They had a lot of shots done in a rain scene. Most of the time rain shows to people sadness. They are dancing and having fun like a child without any consideration. Rain repersent sadness but in these scenes they are all happy. This music video is telling a problem that people have is people are all not responsible to their relationship all the things. Just like a joke and because of being scared of getting hurt. So even though they like each other they don’t take the relationship seriously. The song Sober is a performertive song, in this music video a lot of color elements are used. In this music video each group member is the main character. When it comes to each of their parts and they sing solo in the music video everyone is shown differently. In their custom it matches up with the scene design at the start for example orange hair and white suit is matches up with the bedding. All the beds are placed on a meadow surrounding with trees and grass. In this music video their main shooting location is at a field and containers. In this music video their action is different from a normal peoples action, they are like monsters just released out from the cage and are jumping around. But they also like a child so they do what they want to do. With the camera work they had use the revealing shot when they are shooting in the container the camera goes around 360 degree around the container. (an arc shot) And they use a dolly track and pan shot to follow their movement in the music video.
In this music video it had some parts that are surreal. They had used some props to create the action like in the car hood is full of flower and fog comes out from the car. In this music video they create a lot of scenes that are not going to happen in real life. In the music video they use montage editing and cross cutting to make the scene look more fun and surreal. Say why they used this unreal effect. What meaning does it create in the MV? The music video mainly uses sun light when the scene is at the field and in door shooting is low key lighting and a little sun light. All the out door shotting is high key lighting and the background is faintly. All their clothing is mainly light color system they will match the enviroment.

When I first time heard this song I don’t had an idea about what kind of music video I want to do.
I had struggle of so many idea so I don’t which is my final choice.

A storyboard for the music video, with my bad drawing. This is a storyboard of my basic idea by the time I still not clear of what I want to do, the main concept is only a memory music video.
It is because of I still what to see the location I had chosen is like at the time I will shot my music video.
RECCE(LOCATION)
The location I had chosen is a really big park with a lake and is surround by mountain. This place is full of greenery a nice place for picnic.
STORYBOARD
The story is start from they had meet in a music festival, by the first eye contact they had fall in love with each other. They had their first dating in the country where the music festival is, they had gone to picnic to see a lot of natural place. By the time both of them need to gone back to work, they had been speared by the distance by the river between Wales and England. The girl had share her what she think and what she want to do with her best friend, how much she had miss him. They using the song to express her yearn to her boyfriend. They need to find a solution to fix the problem between them, the biggest problem is the distance one of them need to leave their country and find a new job had a new life.
RISK ASSESSMENT
The location i had choice is a flat land in a park next to the land is a bamboo grove. Therefor the risk is very small for me also my friends. I pick a sunny day for my shooting so do not had a danger of storming also raining.
SHOOTING SCHEDULE
I am planning for 16th of May to do my shooting, it is a sunny day in the afternoon about 4pm to 6pm the shooting had done in an about one and half hour. All the shooting is done in small scene each scene is about 20 second also contain some image.
EDITING EVIDENCE
The music video I had doe the editing and shooting in a day, so I still had an idea of what I want to do.

EVALUATION
This music video I had made I had invited two friends, because of this song is singing by two girls. I need to thanks for Chloe and Yenny, Chloe is the leading role in the music video and Yenny is coster in the music video. The music video is made in black and white is a memory video and picture the boy taken for the girl when they are dating. All this is from a boyfriend view of point to look at Chloe, memory of how sweet when they are in the same country just like the song the girl sing for the boy and all this memory and picture the boy taken for the girl.
This is a memory music video for the song, so I had slow down all scene in the music video.
I had show the music video to Chloe, and we both think that the music video it is not fluency enough the link between each short clip and image still had some place had video jam. At the start of the video it might be to long so it would be really bored for the audience need a long time to wait to the actual music video. My weaknesses is mainly taking picture and editing video, I am still lack of skill to find a good angle to take image. Using natural sun light and angle to take image is a difficult thing for me, also editing video is my weakness. I learn how to use premiere by Youtube and Bilibili, while I had anything don’t understand or don’t know how to do the editing I would find teaching video on Youtube.
I think my strength on produce music video is the idea of my music video, I am using an idea of boyfriend view of point to do the shooting. Using a different idea to finish the shooting rather use an usual way, had two person in the camera.
I need to improve my editing a lot, I really lack of skill on editing how to use different scene to use my idea in the best way. Between each scene need a better connection needs more smooth connection, using different method.
